Working with the IOIO board and Android
We have been working with a large global client to develop a custom Android application to replace an aging HCI interface and the IOIO board was proposed as the middleware hardware to link the Android software to the powered control board on the machine.
Using the IOIO board allowed us to expose additional PINs for connections with new sensors and controls. We worked with the clients existing Ladder Logic flow diagrams we reworked the software system into an Android based application to manage all the required controls and logic for the machine control.
We linked this into a customised user interface that allowed a touch UI for the end user to operate all aspects of the machine, making the interactions very intuitive and giving immediate feedback on actions such as pulse modulation changes, digital motor frequencies and a full system diagnostic area, all beautufully and graphically displayed via a 7" tablet.
